A Social Distanced Poem

From Afar

Raise your eyes

Don’t you see what’s right in front

of you, The mystery of what’s called

life. A wild, crazy adventure

Yes

Imagine from afar

Each moment at a distance

Count one…two…

Three…four…

Five…six…

Just far enough. Air hugs. Elbow taps.

The world upside down or closed down.

A piece of fabric-you take it seriously

A hidden menace unseen

Can’t remember the last time

the news had no update of deaths.

World turned upside down or closed down

Back and forth back and forth unending

Confusion. Can’t see an end.

Will normal ever RETURN?

What is normal anymore?

Can you tell what’s

normal from afar?
